This is an open call for applications for 3 participants (residents and citizens) from France, Croatia, Spain, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, and Austria between 20 and 30 years old for a fully-funded Training Course in Vienna, Austria from 18.08 (arrival day) to 25.08 2023 (departure day).
A Training Course is a project where youth workers and youth leaders come together for several days to develop their competences (knowledge, skills, and attitudes) on a certain theme. The daily programme of the course is based on learning objectives and facilitated by experienced trainers. The training courses promote the initiative and creativity of participants and have a direct impact on their future youth work or youth policy activities, such as organising quality projects and providing intercultural and non-formal learning experiences for young people.
SUMMARY:
This call is particularly for the Training Course "Participatory and Emancipatory Approaches for Youth Work" that will be implemented in Vienna, Austria from 18.08 (arrival day) to 25.08 2023 (departure day). This training brings together 30 youths from Austria, Croatia, France, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, and Spain. The main aim is to respond to the problem of social conflicts on community level through youth work by employing conflict transformation and peacebuilding tools, specifically through simulations, role-play, and game-based methods.
OBJECTIVES:
1. explore two innovative educational tools which can be used to raise the conflict transformation competences of their target groups and accompany them in developing their own initiatives for social and cultural justice;
2. deepen understanding of concepts related to conflict transformation and analyse social cultural conflicts;
3. develop a bystander sense of intervention to address injustice and promote emancipation;
4. provide a space for the transfer of the acquired knowledge and competences to the local youth work reality;
5. develop follow-up projects on local and international level in the field of conflict transformation.
PRACTICALITIES:
1. If you are at least 20 years old and live in France and would like to participate in this training, please send an email with a brief introduction about you and your motivation for participation in this training to emotic.org.fr@gmail.com AS SOON AS POSSIBLE; please include the name of the training in your email;
2. We will review your email, and once you are accepted, we will inform you per email and you should sign the participation agreement and fill in the participation form and fill in the membership form if you did not do it before (membership is for free);
3. Then you should buy your travel ticket in consultation with OEMFCI;
4. When it is time for the activity, you will travel together with the rest of the group from France;
5. The food and accommodation are fully covered. You will be staying in a shared room in a hotel. And the food will include all options.
6. After your return, you will be refunded the cost of the travel ticket.
